Diana-Her Fashion Story Kensington Palace, London

The Holiday Inn London Kensington Hotel

Few people have made such an impact on the world as Diana, Princess of Wales. From her first public appearance in 1981, she captivated the world’s attention as a princess, as a trendsetter and as a patron and advocate of charities. Twenty years on after her death, a new fashion exhibition and commemorative garden celebrating her life has opened at Kensington Palace. The Palace was a place of unique significance to the Princess; as well as being her home from 1981, she also hosted regular receptions for her many charities in the Palace’s State Apartments and Orangery. The Palace was also the scene of a worldwide tribute to her in 1997.

This major new dress exhibition traces the evolution of the Princess’s style, from the demure, romantic outfits of her first public appearances to the glamour, elegance and confidence of her later life. Don’t miss an extraordinary collection of garments, including the iconic velvet gown, famously worn at the White House when the Princess danced with John Travolta. There are also amazing sights to see within the Palace itself including the King’s State Apartments, the Queen’s State Apartments and the Red Saloon.
