Kew Gardens Orchid Festival

London & Windsor

The Orchidaceae are a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants, with blooms that are often colourful and fragrant. Along with Asteraceae, they are one of the two largest families of flowering plants and the number of orchid species nearly equals the number of bony fishes and is more than twice the number of bird species. Every February visitors can immerse themselves in a celebration of vibrant colours, culture and magnificent plant life inside the tropical paradise of Kew Garden’s Princess of Wales Conservatory. Each year Kew brings a new theme to this magnificent festival with a feast of colour with elaborate flower displays and it is a wonderful celebration of the Orchid.

London is a cosmopolitan and dynamic city with a wealth of historic, major landmarks, superb shopping and excellent nightlife. Walk through Trafalgar Square and down past Horse Guard’s Parade and the entrance to Downing Street to Parliament Square. Here you will find the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. Almost every British Monarch since 1065 has been crowned here and you can see the Coronation Chair and the beautiful King Henry V11 Chapel. London’s famous shopping and entertainments locations include Regent and Oxford Street, Knightsbridge and Piccadilly, whilst the greener side of London offers you Hyde Park, St. James’s and Green Park.
