Itinerary
Mon - This morning we depart the local area and make our way to Oxford. Some free time in the city before we enjoy our evening meal in the hotel tonight.
Tue - Today we head for the ‘dreaming spires’ of Oxford where a private guided walking tour will follow in the footsteps of DCI Morse and his successor, DI Lewis.
After lunch we visit the National Trust’s Waddesdon Manor. The house was built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 to display his outstanding collection of arts and to entertain the fashionable world. It featured in the Midsomer Murders episode ‘Death of a Stranger’. We continue to the hill-top village of Brill, the location for more episodes of Midsomer Murders, with a 17th century windmill.
Wed - A contrast with the rural delights of Midsomer today as we drive into London to walk in the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes. But before the walk we meet the man himself who will escort us to his home at 221b Baker Street. We then take a walking tour around the back streets of Victorian London with free time to explore some of the sights of the capital.
Thu - Today we will head to Chenies manor house which is a 15th Century Tudor gem, with Its enchanting gardens boasting lavender walks, a sunken garden, and a medieval well, making it a haven for nature lovers. A filming location for Midsomer Murders, Chenies Manor blends history, beauty, and charm, offering a perfect countryside escape.
