Itinerary
Mon - Early morning departure to Holyhead where we board the 08.55hrs ferry service to Dublin, arriving at approx. 12.10hrs.We continue to Dundalk and to the hotel. Settle into your room before enjoying your evening meal.
Tue - This morning, we travel to Belfast Harbour and tuck into tea/coffee & scones before embarking on a guided boat tour of Titanic Harbour. We view the Titanic Quarter from the water and marvel at the vastness of this important industrial area. We continue our Titanic theme in the afternoon, visiting the world-famous Titanic Belfast, which tells the Titanic story though nine spectacular interactive galleries housed in its iconic building.
Wed - Today, we experience life on a traditional working Irish farm at the family run Causey Farm. We get the chance to be Irish for the day by throwing ourselves into things like turf cutting and rustling up soda bread, and trying our hand at hurling, folk dancing and drumming. We then head to the spectacular Slane Castle, overlooking the River Boyne and home to the Conyngham family, for a guided tour and to learn all about the family, the history of this architectural wonder and the big-name concerts that have been held here over the years.
Thu - This morning, we travel to Dublin and enjoy a 45 minute guided cruise on the River Liffey before enjoying free time to explore the many attractions Dublin has to offer, including the Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, or one of Dublin’s more recent additions, such as EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum or the GPO Witness History exhibition.
Fri - After breakfast we bid farewell to Dundalk and retrace our route to Dublin port. We board the 14.50hrs ferry service to Holyhead. After disembarking we continue the homeward journey.
