Novotel Caen Cote De Nacre Hotel
The Novotel Caen Côte de Nacre is located 20 minutes from the beaches of the Allied Landings, near the Peace Memorial. It offers a heated outdoor swimming pool, a terrace and a garden. Each guest room at the Novotel has satellite TV and free Wi-Fi internet access. At the Caen Côte de Nacre's restaurant, the Gourmet Bar, guests can enjoy traditional cuisine.

Sat - Later departure as we head south to Portsmouth for our overnight crossing to Caen. Settle into your cabin as we sail through the night.

Sun - This morning we disembark the boat and spend the day exploring Caen. Later we check into our hotel with your evening at leisure.

Mon - Today, we spend a day exploring the British and Canadian sectors of the Normandy Beaches. With our own knowledgeable guide, we can immerse ourselves in the incredible D-Day Landings. We will visit the Arromanches 360 Circular Cinema, an immersive experience with surround cinema screen to bring the military action to life. Later we travel to Ouistreham and visit the museum at the restored Grand Bunker, part of the Atlantic Wall, the most powerful German coastal battery.

Tue - This morning we travel into the centre of Caen with free time in the morning to explore its castle built for Norman the Conquerer which also houses the Fine Arts Museum and Normandy Museum. This afternoon, we visit the Caen Memorial Museum which tells the story of 20th century history in Europe by an innovative 360-degree film.

Wed - Another fascinating day today, this time exploring the American sector of the Normandy Beaches. We visit the Airborne Museum at Sainte- Mère-Eglise which is dedicated to the American paratroopers engaged in the Normandy invasion of 1944. Later we visit German trenches & explore the WWII bunkers of Maisy Battery, Normandy’s best kept secret after being buried for 60 years!

Thu - After breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way to the port where we cross back to Portsmouth on the daytime ferry. Once we arrive in Portsmouth dock we continue with our journey home.
