Llangollen Wharf is one of the major attractions in the North Wales market town of Llangollen and is now part of a World Heritage Site. Take in the magical sights and sounds of the beautiful Llangollen Canal.  At the Wharf you can browse in our gift shop or enjoy a leisurely cup of tea or coffee and home made cake in our tea room, with views over the canal and town. Lunches and cream teas can be pre-ordered for the aqueduct trips.

Two hour trips on the motorised canal boat Thomas Telford carry you through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen and across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct built by Thomas Telford between 1795 and 1805. This length of canal is a World Heritage Site.

The country's biggest navigable aqueduct towers a massive 126ft (38m) above the River Dee supported by 18 stone piers. The canal runs through an iron trough 1007 feet (306.9 metres) long, 11 feet 10 inches (3.6 metres) wide and 5 feet 3 inches (1.6 metres) deep. Water is fed from the River Dee at the Horseshoe Falls near Llangollen.

Our purpose built motor narrowboat the Thomas Telford is fully weather proof and is centrally heated with comfortable seats and excellent views from every table. There is an informative live commentary on board and the bar is open throughout the journey.
